Glacier Edge Scout Concil Night at the "Duck Pond"

This is a council event and all tickets are bought directly through the Mallards.  See below. 

- $2.00 of every ticket is donated back to Glacier's Edge Council
- Ceremonial first pitch by a supporter of Glacier's Edge Boy Scout Council
- Major League Stadium Seats, Mallards Hat and Mallards Patch

Costs:  Tickets are for reserved filed box seats.  They are $10.00 and come with a Mallards hat for both adult and scout.  Each person will receive a Mallards Patch.

May Pack Meeting - Advancement

Pack Conversation Project

Date: Saturday,  May 4, 2013
Time: 2:45 pm - 5:30 pm
Where: Prairie Moraine County Park  (large dog park)
1970 Cty Hwy PB, Verona, WI

Meet:  In  the parking lot, by the ICE AGE TRAIL HEAD, not the dog park entrance.


Project: Assist with Prairie seeding along the Ice Age Trail.  David Lonsdorf will lead the project.  Hike 10-15 minutes to the spot and back. If it is muddy, please bring boots.  We will be back in the parking lot at 5:30pm.

The Den leaders will contact the respective members for a head count by Tuesday, April 30, so enough seed will be available for the project. 



A Verona Brownie Troop will join us as well.

Cost: Helping our planet Earth is always free!

Scouting For Food

Date:  Week of  Sunday April 7 through Thursday, April 10, 2013
What: Distribute Fliers to assigned homes for the Annual Scout Food Drive

Cub Scout Pack 549 will distribute fliers to assigned neighborhoods per den.  The den leaders will hand out assigned streets with the fliers to their den members.  Your den leader will be your contact for the assignments and fliers.  The fliers must be hung on the doors of the homes prior to Saturday, April 13, 2013.  Boy Scout Troop 349 will pick up the food on Saturday, April 13, 2013. 

If your scout wants to hang more fliers than the assigned amount, contact your den leader for extra streets to cover.

If you are unable to finish your assigned streets, please let your den leader know so the streets can be handled by another scout.  The pack and troop tries to cover the whole city of Verona. 

 

                                                                                   

Crossover Banquet

Date:  Sunday, March 10, 2013

Place:  Badger Ridge Middle School
Event:  Crossover Banquet for Webelo II scouts to crossover to Boy Scouts.

All scouts and families are invited to attend.  Please RSVP by Saturday, Feb 23, 2013  to your respective den leader for the number of attendees coming to the banquet.

Mohawk District Open Invitational Pinewood Derby - March 16, 2013

Date:  Saturaday, March 8, 2014
Place:  Smart Toyota
Cost:  $5:00
Registraiton:  Cap of 250 scouts and filling up

Pack 549 is part of the Mohawk District of the Glacier Edge Council.  This is a district run event and gives you another opportunity to race your derby car in addition to the Pack 549 Derby Race on Jan 26, 2013.

MOHAWK DISTRICT OPEN – Gentlemen Start your engines. Smart Toyota 5901 Odana Road present, the Mohawk District Open invitational on March 16th 2013. This event will be limited to the first 250 scouts. Sign up early.

Participants will receive so many prizes that if you don’t come you’ll actually be losing money! Scouts can register as a Pack or individually. Cost is $4 before December 31st and $5 after January 1st.
All registrations will be handled through the Madison Scout Office.

We will have a demonstration for the Madison Fire Department, vehicle extrication and Safe Kids Coalition, vehicle safety. This year we will have many door prizes, including a signed game ball from the Harlem Globetrotters. Everyone will be a winner at this event.

Scout Sunday and Sabbath

Scout Sunday - Weekend of February 2 and 3 
or Feb 9 and 10 (check with your place of faith)

Attend your place of worship or attend the event below.  Some places of worship also recognize their scouts at the service.  Check with your place of worship.

A special invite on Sunday February 10- Boy Scout 349 Verona Troup will celebrate Scout Sunday Service at the Salem Church of Christ (The church charters the troup) at 10:15 am  to 12:00 in Verona. A special ceremony is planned and cub scouts are welcome to attend.  You do not have to be a member of the congregation to attend.

Scout Sabbath Day - Saturday, February  9

For any of these dates - wear your class "A" uniform to your place of worship and receive a Scout Sunday patch.

Please let your den leader know by Feb 13 if you participated so a patch may be ordered.

Preparedness Pin, Certificate, and Lunch for the Scout

The American Red Cross issetting up a Basic Aid Training for the Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scouts on January 12th from 9AM to 3:30PM. They will have the chance to learn first aid and life saving skills as well as how to be better prepared for emergencies. The cost is $10. That includes the Emergency Preparedness Pin, Certificate and lunch for your scout. I need a minimum of 8 scouts to sign up. I apologize about the short notice but the Red Cross is very busy at this time of year. If you would like to sign up please let me know before Wednesday the 9th.
