Popcorn kick off
At the meeting scouts will learn about our popcorn sale, or a refresher for those participating last year. There will be some free time to do some activities outside, if weather permits, when they are not going through the practice stations. Additionally, our Popcorn Kernel Brian Crounse will be talking to the parents about the sale from a scouting parent's perspective so please try to stay for the meeting and reinforce the message with your scouts as they sell popcorn.
Bring 2019 dues payment $35, checks can be made out to Pack 549.

Community Service Opportunity - Verona Fire Department's Safety Expo 2019 - Sat Sept 14th
Community Service Opportunity
The Verona Fire Department has requested our help serving food and clearing tables during the event. We will be serving hotdogs, bags of chips and cookies or possibly cake. Food is free so we won't be collecting payments. Volunteer may be asked to pre-wrap hotdogs in the fire station kitchen. Scouts do not need to serve all 4 hours, please join us for any amount of time your scout is available.

Join the Pack Night for New Scouts
Interested in Cub Scouts? Join us on September 12th from 6:30 - 8 pm at Glacier Edge Elemntary school in the cafeteria to learn more about Cub Scouts, Pack 549, and sign up your son or daughter! There will be a short presentation on scouting. We will have several handouts for families new to scouting and can answer any questions you have about scouting.
Our Pack (scouts in grades K-5) meets once a month during the school year. Our meetings are usually the third Thursday of the month at Glacier Edge Elementary School in the Cafeteria from 6:30 pm - 8 pm. Our first pack meeting of this school year will be on September 19th. It's a gathering for scouts, parents, and siblings, with something fun to see or do as a big group.
We split the scouts up into smaller groups, dens, according to their grade in school. The Dens meet an additional 1-2 times a month during the school year and work through the required achievements in their rank books to earn a rank badge by the end of the school year.

WHERE: Tollefson Park (near Glacier’s Edge Elementary)
Join Pack 549 for boat races and root beer floats.
Boats will be premade this year, so we can have more racing fun.
If you have yard games such as ladderball or cornhole, please bring them.
We will have sign-in sheets and yearly dues of $35 can be turned in to Christina Pier. Checks should be made out to Pack 549.

Information about Cub Scout Pack 549
Do you know a boy or girl in grades K-5 who is interested in joining Cub Scouts? If so, we would love to give you some more information about Cub Scouts---specifically Pack 549.
Pack 549 is a Cub Scout Pack for boys and girls in Verona, Wisconsin. Our Pack (a large group) meets once a month during the school year. Our meetings are usually the third Thursday of the month at Glacier Edge Elementary School. We also have den meetings (small groups divided by grade) that meet a couple times a month. The meeting days/locations vary by den.
In addition to the meetings, our Pack participates in several other activities. Some examples of things we have done over the years are sleepovers in a WWII submarine, the National Mississippi River Museum/Aquarium, and Lambeau Field, tubing at Cascade Mountain, a daytrip to the EAA museum in Oshkosh, day and overnight camps, and Pinewood Derby races. There are also opportunities for Scouts to help their communities.
If you want to check out our Pack in person, we invite you to attend our Raingutter Regatta on August 25, 2019 from 3-5 at Tollefson Park. This will be a great chance for you to meet with current Scout families and leaders and ask questions in a relaxed atmosphere. You may also contact our Cubmaster Jeff Schwartz or our Committee Chair Christina Pier through email at any time.
