Each Scout needs to bring a pack of new/unused socks for..... SOCK WARS!! 
This is one of the most popular meetings of the year. Scouts are encouraged to make a cardboard shield and bring it to the meeting. 
All socks will be donated to a homeless shelter following the meeting.

Pack meeting motes:


Please bring an unwrapped present to be donated to the Toys for Tots Charity for our annual Toys for Tots donation.


A final count of Cub Scouts & Parents who are planning to attend the DEC 9th sleep over on the USS Cobia Submarine in Manitowoc WI is needed. Since plans often change, please confirm (or re-confirm) if you are planning to attend -We need the name of each attendee, please email to dlmadtown@gmail.com.
We will hold an organizational meeting at the Public Library for all attendees. Please contact me if you have any questions. This will be a FUN outing!!! Date of meeting to be announced. 
 50% of the ticket costs for each scout will be reimbursed for the Cobia Submarine! Costs are $44 each scout/parent/(siblings if room permits).


 Achievements and awards will be presented for this year's PopCorn Sales fund raising drive.

To celebrate Thanksgiving, there will be a  "Tom the Turkey" contest!!! Categories will be "Most Original", "Best Dancer" and "Most Colorful".

Hello Pack 549,
 
Our 2016 popcorn sale is coming to a close. Thank you all for your hard work!  At our Pack meeting, this Thursday, October 20th please bring any unsold popcorn, copies of sales sheets, popcorn money, and a filled out Return Slip for any unsold popcorn that you might have (the return slip was given to you at the beginning of the sale when you picked up your popcorn). After the meeting, you will leave with “back ordered” popcorn that we have on hand.
Any remaining “back ordered” popcorn is expected to be available on Saturday, November 19th.

 Before the October 20th Pack Meeting
These 4 steps make it much easier for the popcorn committee, den leaders, and the treasurer.
  1. Make sure your sales sheets are filled out (name, den number, prize selection, and totals)
  2. Make a copy of your sales sheets
  3. Fill out a Return Slip.It was included in your packet at the beginning of the sale.If you can’t find it, print it from our blog (http://pack549verona.blogspot.com/)
    There is an example attached.
  4. Please exchange your cash for larger bills at the bank.
 At the October Pack Meeting:
  1. Bring Along – unsold popcorn, empty Campmasters boxes, manila envelope, sales sheets, Return Slip, and money
  2. Come between 6pm to 6:30pm, and we’ll check you in
  3. You will get your Back Ordered popcorn at the end of the meeting.If we don’t have enough to fill your back orders at the Pack Meeting, you’ll get it aroundNovember 19th.
 If you cannot make it to the October Pack Meeting:

Turn in your unsold popcorn, sales sheets, return slip, and money to either Frank Westphal or Matt Rameker prior to the Pack meeting.

9:00am 9:00 -Wolf, Den 8
9:15am 9:15 -Tiger, Den 10
9:30am 9:30 - Last call.  Scouts that did not come will have     their popcorn sent to their den     leaders. 


If You cannot make it to pick up your popcorn order, please notify your den leaders, and they will make arrangements to pick up your order for you.

Our August "Back to Pack" meeting theme this year is Rain Gutter Regatta!! 
The Rain Gutter Regatta is a "build your own boat" race that's loads of fun!
Let your den leader know if you are coming and they will give you a boat kit so you can build and race your very own boat!
 
For this fun outdoor pack meeting there will also be games, (build your own) rootbeer/soda floats, and of course the REGATTA!

SUNDAY JUNE 5th IS VERONA HOMETOWN DAYS PARADE! 
PACK 549 will be carrying our flags and banners and handing out candy again this year.

When: 10:30am arrival and check-in
Where: Nine Mound Road (off Paoili Street)
What to Wear: Class A uniforms

This annual event is a fun way to start summer - and helps us to grow the Pack. The Parade is a High Visibility Event -  an opportunity to show how much FUN it is to be a CUB SCOUT and hand out recruiting Flyers.

    Cub Scout Pack 549 


Attention Scouts! Sign up time for Summer Camps is here! There are many opportunities to choose from this summer and we will be discussing them at the Pack Meeting Thursday, April 21st.



Here is a brief rundown on the camps available:

Cub Scout Regional Day Camp:
Monday, June 27 though Wednesday, June 29, 8am - 4pm at Badger Prairie Park in Verona, WI.
Cost is $70 for kids, $5 for adults ($35 reimbursement for all scouts who attend)
Keep in mind that we need ratio for this camp, please come with an idea of what date or dates you may be able to stay as a parent and help us out.  It is not required, but a day from each parent would be really helpful.

Cub Scout Resident Camp:

Sunday, July 31st though Tuesday, August 2nd. at Camp Indian Trails in Janesville, WI.
Cost is $135 per scout and $50 for adults ($67.50 reimbursement for scouts who attend)
Scout around the world with globally themed stations

Mom and Me:
Saturday, July 9th - Sunday, July 10th at Camp Indian Trails in Janesville, WI.
$55 per scout, $35 per parent
Want to camp out but aren't sure how your scout will handle it?  This is a great place to start.

Dad and Lad:

Saturday, July 23rd - Sunday, July 24th at Camp Indian Trails in Janesville,WI. 
$55 per scout, $35 per parent

Webelos Resident Camp:
Sunday, August 7th though Tuesday, August 9th at Camp Indian Trails in Janesville, WI.
$145 per scout, $50 per adult ($72.50 reimbursement for scouts who attend)
Webelos focused adventures for those who are currently Bears or Webelos

Day Camp, Resident Camp, and Webelos Camp all have alternate dates available

                   Spring Clean Up

Where: 
Salem Church at 502 Mark Dr., Verona, WI
When: 
This Saturday, April 23, 9am to 11am (or any portion of time in between)
Bring: 
Any yard tools (rakes, pruning utensil, shovels, bucket, etc).


Pack 549 is chartered by Salem United Church of Christ, and this Saturday we have an opportunity to thank them by helping with some spring yard work and cleanup. Any and all help is needed and welcome.

And as a special thanks, the first 25 scouts to arrive will receive a free coupon for Culver's ice cream. There are 25 coupons, so they will first go to the scouts, and then if there are extras they will be distributed to the parents.

Camp Rokilio Meeting

Dear Parents,

If you're planning to go to Camp Rokilio Space Camp on April 15 - 17,  please attend our Rokilio Parents Information & Planning meeting on Thursday March 24th at the Verona Public Library in Room 3. Time - 6pm to 7pm.

Remember, due to the boys' fantastic Popcorn Sales, Camp Rokilio is 100% reimbursed this year for all scouts who attend. FREE FOR SCOUTS! So far 17 boys have signed up! Don't miss this wonderful opportunity for your son to camp out in this beautiful Space Theme camping facility. (Tigers must be accompanied by a parent). Hiking, Fun, Food, Games, Camp fire, Songs, Skits, fellowship - who could ask for more?

We'll cover:  what to bring, food menu, health forms, activities, transportation - everything we need to make the event a success.

   Youth Protection Training
     Important Information


Dear Parents,

All Adults who are planning to attend Rokilio MUST complete Youth Protection Training (YPT) prior to April 7th.
This is a requirement of our the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and our sponsoring organization to ensure we have a common understanding of BSA policies designed to protect our children.

Please follow the instructions below to complete this important 30 minute on-line video training session.
When you have completed the training session, please print your completion certificate and send a copy to me via e-mail..

To take Youth Protection training go to My.Scouting.org  and create an account. You’ll receive an email notification with your account information, including a member ID/reference number.

From the My.Scouting.org  portal, click Home then My Dashboard from the menu list. The My Training page displays to take Youth Protection training. Upon completion, you may print a training certificate to submit with a volunteer application.  Your training will automatically be updated in our system and associated with the member ID/reference number issued when you created the account.
When your volunteer application is approved, you will receive a BSA membership card that includes your member ID number

Calling All Scouts! Cascade Mountain
has a wonderful opportunity for Scouts 
on Saturday or Sunday March 12 or 13.

Cost: $20. per person

Includes: All day lift ticket, rental, helmet.

A 90 minute beginner lesson can be added for $5 
for ages 7 and older.
