Verona Hometown Days Parade - 2011
Scouts (and their leaders) are invited to march in the Verona Hometown Days Parade. to take place on Sunday, June 12, 2011. Scouts will march along with a decorated truck/trailer. The older scouts will likely take turns carrying the Park 549 Banner.
Sunday, June 12th
Parade Lineup/Scout Arrival: Between 11-11:30AM
Lineup number: number 26
Parade Begins at Noon
Parade Theme: Hear the Music
Class A Uniforms Required
Getting Your Scout There:
Legion St (behind Wildcat Lanes) will be the best route to our line-up location on S. Nine Mound Rd. Plan to arrive between 11-11:30, as there will be closed roads and plenty of traffic to maneuver. Look for entry#26.....and scout uniforms....near the Legion St crossing on S. Nine Mound Rd. This is our line-up number/location.
Picking Up Your Scout Up:
Discuss plans for meeting your Scout after they finish marching and/or at the end of the parade. (The parade route ends near Wildcat Lanes.) They will be looking for you at the end of the route.
Provide them with a cell phone and/or number to reach you as a precaution. All scouts must met/pick-up promptly after they complete marching (which will likely be before the parade actually ends).
New for 2011:
Parade spectators will be able to vote (People's Choice Awards) for their favorite parade entry. We hope our scout families will vote for Pack 549!
Other Important Details:
Class A Uniforms are required for all Scouts and Leaders marching. Consider the weather-undershirts for chill, rain gear, etc.
Skateboards, scooters, Healy's, etc. are NOT appropriate.
Restroom visits (limited availability) and snacks (it will be lunch time) should be planned around the parade schedule. Water will be available.
Parade maps, in addition to any parade cancellation notices, can be found at http://www.veronahometowndays.org/
Have Fun!
