- Thursday Feb. 19, 6:30 pm Pack meeting at Glaciers Edge. Cake Bake: Bring a decorative cake and by tickets to vote for the cake you want to take home. Tickets will be drawn out of a "hat" for each cake. Each scout can take at most one cake home, proceeds go to the Verona Food Pantry.
- Saturday Mar. 7, 7:30 am: Pack bus trip to Cascade Mountain snow tubing! Pack paying for bus and tubing tickets. Details coming soon.
- Thursday Mar. 26 6:00 pm at EPIC Voyager Hall: Blue and Gold Banquet. Pizza and Cake provided by pack, dens bringing salads or sides. This is our Webelo II Graduation party!
- Thursday, April 16 6:30 pm at Pack Meeting and Science Activity
- Saturday & Sunday, May 16-17 Overnight Trip to the legendary Kohler Castle. Signup soon for this exciting overnight trip to stay at the large castle building at Cubscout World. This is a great activity for scouts of all ages!

Badger Prairie County Park Winteree
Thank you for signing up for the Winteree sponsored by our very own Mohawk Scout District on 2/7. Here are a few more details:
LOCATION
Badger Prairie County Park, centered around the park shelter. Enter at the east end of the park. I've included a link below to Yahoo Maps showing the location. If the link doesn't work, go to your favorite map search engine and search on "Badger Prairie Park, Verona, WI".

TIME
Registration between 8:00 and 8:30. When you arrive, please provide your names to organizers and look to gather with fellow Pack 549 families. I will try to be there right away at 8:00.
COST
$5.00/person. Cost includes patch. I need to send payment to the Council BEFORE the day of the event. I'd prefer that you send me a check payable to Pack 549 by 2/4, but no later than to me, in person, the day of the event. My address is:

OTHER NOTES
Please make sure you and your family are dressed appropriately for the weather. The events end at noon. No food will be provided, but feel free to bring your own water/snack. Please bring a can of soup to donate to the food pantry.

Pack Plans
December 18 - Pack Meeting
- Activity= Sock Wars II - Bring a 6-pack of new clean tube socks. Pairs are balled up together to make a kid safe snowball. Cardboard is used to make forts/shields. The older scouts dens battle the older dens, younger scouts play with younger scouts.
- Toys for Tots! Bring a un-wrapped toy to donate to toys for tots. There are lots of families with a lot less than us who would love anything you can give. This is one of the many ways our pack gives back to the community, please do your best!
- Cookie decorating/eating (it's a craft and a snack!). We will be icing sugar cookies. If you have any food alergies please bring your own snack, and/or let us know
- Other business, Pinewood Cars will be handed out, Start thinking of summer camp!
- Day Camp at Brigham County Park for summer 2009 will be June 26, 27, 28 (Fri, Sat, Sun). The theme this year is Space Trek – To Boldly Go Where No Scout Has Gone Before.
Saturday Jan 24: Pinewood Derby Races. Starts with younger scouts around 9 am and races are held by den with top dens competing in the playoffs later in the day. Goes till 1-2pm for the finals.
Sat February 7 - Want some winter fun? The Polar Prowl will be Feb 7, 2009 at Blackhawk Lake near Cobb, WI from noon to 4:00pm. This event is through the Wisconsin River District.
Also on Feb 7, The Mohawk District is holding a winter "day camp" right here in Verona at the Badger Prarie Park. The verona one tends to be a smaller event, but still a lot of fun!
Saturday March 7: Snow tubing at Cascade paid for by the pack. This is our big self-reward for a incredible popcorn sale. Leave ~7am, on the snow by 9am. Pack will rent a bus, provide hot drinks and snacks.

Join the FUN with Verona Cub Scout Pack 549
Our first Fall Pack Meeting is Thursday September 25th!
- Our table top displays at the school open house nights will show some of the activities that your scout and family can be involved with in a typical year!
- Our informal Recruitment Night will be from 5 to 6:15 at Glacier Edge School with the regular Pack Meeting starting at 6:30. Time will be allowed before our Pack Meeting and during the meeting at a side table for questions and answers. The night will include activities, advancement/activity awards, popcorn sale details and visitor table. You can meet and speak with current leadership here!

Cub Scout Fall Day Camp Opportunities
There are two upcoming Cub Scout Day Camp events coming up you may be interested in. Both of these events are aimed at new and younger scouts, Tiger through Bear.
The first is the Trailblazer Adventure Day and Nature Trek Saturday September 20 from Noon to 4:00 PM at Camp Indian Trails near Janesville. View the event flyer at www.glaciersedge.org. Pack 549 will provide bus travel to and from the event with sufficient interest.
