Join the FUN with Verona Cub Scout Pack 549


Our "Back to School" and "Join Scouts Recruitment Nights" for Fall 2008 are listed on the back of this flyer.
Our first Fall Pack Meeting is Thursday September 25th!


  • Our table top displays at the school open house nights will show some of the activities that your scout and family can be involved with in a typical year!
  • Our informal Recruitment Night will be from 5 to 6:15 at Glacier Edge School with the regular Pack Meeting starting at 6:30. Time will be allowed before our Pack Meeting and during the meeting at a side table for questions and answers. The night will include activities, advancement/activity awards, popcorn sale details and visitor table. You can meet and speak with current leadership here!

Sept 20: Cub Scout Nature Trek 2008

Nature Trek 2008 is quickly approaching. Nature Trek is Saturday Sept 20 at Camp Indian Trails near Janesville, WI from noon to 4 PM. If you are not yet on the roster and would like to attend, please E-mail Eric Birschbach ebirsch@tds.net by Sept 11.

The day of Nature Trek you will need to bring a completed Cub Scout Medical Form (attached) and $5/registered scout and $3/sibling. Allen McDermott dermo4@tds.net will be your Nature Trek Coordinator on Sept. 20

Cub Scout Fall Day Camp Opportunities

There are two upcoming Cub Scout Day Camp events coming up you may be interested in. Both of these events are aimed at new and younger scouts, Tiger through Bear.

The first is the Trailblazer Adventure Day and Nature Trek Saturday September 20 from Noon to 4:00 PM at Camp Indian Trails near Janesville. View the event flyer at www.glaciersedge.org. Pack 549 will provide bus travel to and from the event with sufficient interest.

The second event is the Cub Scout Jack-O-Lantern Jamboree Saturday October 25 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Woodman Center near Richland Center. Click here to view the event flyer and register at www.glaciersedge.org for more details (click on the calendar for October).

2008 Pack Summer Activities List

Mon, June 2 Scout Night at the Duck Pond 7:05pm game at Warner Park
Madison Mallards take on the Mankato Moon Dogs. This is a Council event -- see the Council website for details.

Thurs, June 5 Cub Scout Recruitment Night 6-8pm at the Verona Public Library
If you know of anyone interested in being a Cub Scout, this is the place to find out what scouting is all about. Boys who will be in 1st - 4th grades next year are eligible.

Sun, June 8 Verona Hometown Days Parade
Parade starts at noon - line up time and other detail will be sent out soon. All cub scouts and leaders are encouraged to participate. All participants must wear Class-A uniforms to march in the parade.

Fri, June 20 - Sun, June 22 Day Camp.
Pack 549 is going to Brigham County Park. Siblings (K-5th grade) are welcome to join us. Parents need only attend one of the three days. Check out the video on the council website. Contact Eric Birschbach (848-3741) ASAP if you plan to attend.

Thurs, June 19 Pack Meeting at Fireman's Park/Verona Beach. 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Rain date: June 26
Games, treats, camp fire program (songs and skits). Come in your Class B uniform (Pack T-shirt) and enjoy scouting fun as the scouts of Pack 549 celebrate summer and welcome new scouts to the Pack.

Sat, June 28 Rhythm and Booms
Rain date: June 29 - see the Council website for details. Participants canvas the crowd to collect funds for R&B charities. In return, participants get…
- free bus ride to and from the event
- free dinner
- a 2008 R&B patch
- VIP seating for the fireworks show
Notify Pam Lokken or Scott Largent (848-8224) by Jun 8th if you will attend.

Wed, July 30 - Sat, Aug 2 Pack Resident Camp at the Space Station
Camp Rokilio, Kiel WI
This is an overnight camp with many activies throughout the day. Contact Camp Coordinators Mitch Poppen or Eric Birschbach ASAP to register. Space is limited.

Sun, Aug 3 Scout Night at the Duck Pond 5:05pm game at Warner Park
